A team at Washington State University is working to develop a breath test that could quickly determine whether a driver is under the influence of marijuana. (News Tribune)


With the current technology used by local authorities, if you were to be pulled over by the police and suspected to be under the influence of marijuana, there would be no way to test your THC level on the spot of the traffic stop. Police have to use their best judgment to decide if you are under the influence of marijuana or not. If they decide you are too impaired to safely drive, they will then take you into the station and complete a blood test which can take a while and may not show if you were stoned while driving or not. Even if you smoked marijuana the day before getting pulled over, a blood test could still…
